    APS Board Approves Election Resolution

    Superintendent Scott Elder served the Albuquerque Public School Board in multiple capacities, from substitute, teacher, principal, chief operations officer, and superintendent. The APS Board of Education decided not to move forward with an extension of Elder’s contract, allowing it to expire naturally at the end of June 2024.

    On May 24 the APS Board of Education approved a $2.16 billion budget for the school district. The budget is a 12 percent increase in spending from the 2022-23 fiscal year, with the increase being driven by salary increases.
